The Haier MWM13110GSS comes in an elegant stainless steel body and is equipped with 1.3 cubic feet of interior capacity and 1100 Watt of cooking power. Yes, the designers managed to create a very compact unit measuring 22.5 x 19 x 14 inches. This product features 8 one touch menu buttons, 10 power levels and 5 memory cook settings as well as multiple stage cooking. Further to that, the 1150 grilling element provides features that go well beyond a regular microwave. Other highlights include a time defrost, weight defrost and express cook.

The MWM13110GSS is a very interesting model. Just by looking at it, you would not expect that much power. It is very streamlined and compact, plus it comes with a very practical pull open handle (definitely a plus on our list!). What we like is the fact that the soft touch menu buttons were laid out logically, the settings are intuitive and don't require unnecessary and annoying guesswork. As for the performance: extremely solid! Which is not very surprising considering the 1100 Watt and rather spacious interior. Defrosting, cooking from scratch and warming-up pre-cooked meals was done quickly and the foods came out ready for consumption.

If there is one thing that might be a little bit irritating about this model is the fact that it doesn't have the looks of a state of the art microwave oven. But then again, don’t get fooled by the looks. Because after all you want your foods to be cooked and heated and not win a beauty pageant, right? As for the price, not cheap but adequate.

Who do we recommend the Haier MWM13110GSS for? Basically smaller and larger families who need a reliable and robust oven they will use on a regular basis. This is not a unit to put in your kitchen and expect to turn heads – this is more of a working horse that does a good job. Definitely a top pick among the top microwaves for under $100.
